1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and any purchases you make from us.

  • The parties: “We”, “us”, and “our” refer to Home Is Where The Sauna Is, Business ID: 2445811-2. “You” refers to the customer.

  • Agreement: By using our website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website.

  • Product scope: These Terms apply to all items sold on our website: sauna, home, and outdoor equipment.

2. Website Use

You agree to use this website fairly and legally.

  • Prohibited actions: You must not attempt to hack, disrupt, or inject malicious code into our website.

  • Fraud prevention: You must not use our website or checkout system for fraudulent activities.

3. Products, Orders, and Acceptance

We sell high-quality equipment. Minor aesthetic variations (such as natural wood grain or metal finishes) may occur and are not considered defects.

  • Order acceptance: Your order is an offer to buy. We officially accept your order only when we ship the product and send a shipping confirmation.

  • Order cancellation: We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order (e.g., due to stock shortages or pricing errors). If we cancel an order after you are charged, we will issue a full refund immediately.

4. Prices and Payment

  • Currency: All prices are listed and charged in US Dollars (USD).

  • Secure checkout: Payments are securely processed through Stripe. We never see, access, or store your credit card number or full payment details.

5. US-Only Shipping and Import Guarantees

  • We offer free shipping to the 48 contiguous United States. We do not ship anywhere outside this area.

  • When shipping to a package forwarding service, delivery is officially complete when the package arrives at the contiguous US address you entered during checkout. You are responsible for all onward transportation.

  • All products ship from Finland. We fully handle and pay for all duties, taxes, customs clearance fees, handling fees, and international shipping costs. The price you see at checkout is the final price; you will not face unexpected import fees upon delivery.

6. Returns and Refunds

  • Policy integration: All returns, cancellations, and refunds are handled according to our separate Shipping & Return Policy, which is fully integrated into these Terms.

7. Safety, Installation, and Product Responsibility

Our sauna, home, and outdoor equipment includes heavy items, high-voltage electrical components, and wood-burning units.

  • Professional installation required: You explicitly agree that all electric sauna heaters and electric toilets must be installed by a professional electrician. All wood-burning equipment must be installed in strict accordance with local fire safety codes and building regulations.

  • Electrical compatibility & specifications: All our electric products are manufactured in the EU to European standards and are not Underwriters Laboratories (UL) listed. However, they are specifically selected for the US residential market because their internal circuitry supports a 230V/240V 1N~ (single/split-phase) wiring configuration compatible with standard US home electrical panels.

  • Electrician requirements & terminal jumpering: You explicitly acknowledge that configuring a European sauna heater for a US 240V residential supply requires a professional electrician to properly install the factory-included terminal jumpers and correctly convert the manufacturer’s metric conductor specifications to the appropriate US AWG wire size. You are entirely responsible for ensuring your electrician reviews the manual’s wiring diagrams prior to installation and confirms that non-UL-listed equipment complies with all applicable local electrical codes and the requirements of the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). 

  • Permits and codes: You are entirely responsible for obtaining any necessary local building permits, safety approvals, or HOA permissions required to install and operate our equipment.

  • Liability waiver: We are not liable for any property damage, personal injury, or fatal accidents resulting from improper installation, incorrect use, lack of maintenance, or unauthorized modifications to our products.

  • Health & safe operation: Sauna heaters generate extreme heat. You are entirely responsible for using the products safely and in accordance with the health and safety guidelines provided in the product manuals. If you have underlying health conditions, please consult your own doctor regarding safe sauna usage temperatures and durations.

8. Intellectual Property

  • Ownership: All content on this website, including text, product descriptions, original images, graphics, logos, and branding, belongs to us.

  • Restriction: You may not copy, download, or use our content for any commercial purpose without our express written permission.

  • External links: Our website may contain links to third-party tools, guides, or external websites (like shipping carriers or Stripe).

  • No endorsement: We do not control or take responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or business practices of these external providers.
